The material is made up of acoustic harmony based songs. Ben began his musical journey in his home town of Manchester, when he was working in A1 Music on Oxford Road.
At the age of 16 his early demo found its way in to the hands of the manager of the then un-titled Brubaker. They were looking for a young singer. In Ben they found a lot more. He was already an excellent songwriter. Soon after, they were signed to an indie label and went on to have a successful career amongst the hedonism that was Manchester in the late 90 s. By the age of 19 when Brubaker split, Ben had become a accomplished live performer and played just about every venue the uk has to offer.
Fast forward three years and Ben was ready to embark on something solo. Having always been influenced by the Spector wall of sound , early sixties girl-harmony groups and Brian Wilson, the sounds that were emerging from the 8-track were a lot sweeter and more melodic. Ben's talent for production was becoming increasingly noticeable.
Now going under the name International 1, a string of live shows followed and a single was recorded for Summer release, unfortunately this was never to reach the public due to under funding. Never one to be disheartened, Ben immediately decided to move to London and start recording again. Over the last year he has recorded a stripped down album of beautiful songs, using only vocals, guitar and a digi-4 track. The record is a stunning representation of what happens when revealing, heart felt simplicity meets the complexity that is being young and hopeful in a confusing time. It is now being showcased live.
