It all started when he was 13, doing bedroom freestyles and listening to his brothers Hip Hop/Rap collections of 'Naughty by Nature', and 'The Notorious BI.G', to a much opposite genre of his sisters Pop - 'New Kids on the Block', and 'East 17', and of course let's not forget his parents 'Mauritian Sega'.
Richie (Ashwin) has managed to make a mark for himself even growing up in the quiet town of Redhill.
The talent does not just stop at performing on stage, he also expresses his creative skills within Sonic Arts. With a National Diploma in Music Technology, and recently becoming a Bachelor of the arts, awarded a Honors Degree in Music & Media, Richie is now prepared for the next step. His skills have helped him create his own music videos, to diaries, and documentaries. This being another way of promoting himself Online, as well as Music websites like Myspace and Facebook, to name a few.
The ''Work-aholic'' continues to create music but does not care what genre/category he falls in to.
I quote; 'I've written bars from Hip Hop to Rap, now to Grime, Now I just like to chat...'' (RH1 - Keep Looking)
Many of his songs change, as you may notice the ''Town Boy'' reveals himself to be a versatile entertainer, delivering tracks to a wider audience.
He says; ''Waiting for people in one genre ti like your music is hard, so sod it.. I've gone my whole life of liking everything and giving anything a chance, so my music is for everyone.. Someone's Got to like it!"
The music industry is a harsh world, and is always changing as time goes on, though Richie believes hard-work does pay off, and he shall continue to be a success!
