Whilst still at Ewell Castle Secondary School , Chris began playing in the school s big band. The band s international touring of Spain and the Czech Republic was a great learning experience for Chris. After listening to Elvin Jones A Love Supreme, Tony Williams Miles Smilin and Footprint Live by Brian Blade his ardor for jazz music grew. It was at this time that he and friends from the big band created a jazz, funk, and jazz fusion band called Jazz Funk Collective. They began gigging around London and the Dublin jazz scene. Under the tutelage of renown drum teacher Bob Armstrong as well as Colin Woolway founder of Drumsense Teaching Programme, Chris began taking jazz seriously. As he finished his A Level exams, He began a BA Honors Jazz degree at London s Middlesex s University. It was there that Chris studied under some the best jazz musicians in the UK; such musicians include Stuart Hall, Rob Townsend, Nikki Iles, Dave Ohm, and Tim Giles.

He currently lives in London. Between gigs he teaches.
