Colossal Youth hurls its body at passing trains, sticks its head in fluffy clouds and rolls in the dirt. Named for (and celebrates) the beauty that must be sought after rather than acquired.
From our formative years through the 70-90s we draw on the artistry of the generations before, tilt on the fulcrum that was post-punk, explore the room to roam that was indie, charge through the idiot wind of the 90's new age indolence, the commercial mess of noughties muzak.
Our music chooses to embrace a balance between wisdom and folly, fact and fancy, truth and its consequences, pretention and honesty.
These songs have reached the ears of audiences over the past two years and are growing in number. We have played on the same bills as The Knockouts, Giant Haystacks, The Jebs, Sons Of Guns, played local pubs and festivals and The Boogaloo, Islington, London. Our biggest deal to date was supporting The Chapman Family on their Cruel Britannia tour.
