Fay Brotherhood's Cernewoda

details
An earty, gutsy and dynamic Pagan folk band playing renowned local folk singer Fay Brotherhood's songs of Celtic Britains myths and legends and the takes of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire (The domesday entry of which the name Cernewoda is taken).

Fay has been gigging since 2010 both solo and as part of a duo with fiddle/mandolin player Lee Burns who joins her in Cernewoda alongside a bassist and percussionist.

Their songs range from the hauntingly beautiful with lilting celtic tones reminiscent of Sandy Denny/Loreena McKennit and a medieval flavour, to hard hitting epics performed with a Grace Slick esque belt and Fay's characteristically dramatic stage presence.

Cernewoda do things differently to the rest of the folk scene, Think Seth Lakeman meets Jethro Tull with a little visit past Kate Bush. We have been described as a "breath of fresh air".

We would be suitable for any audience young or old who like folk music. Our niche market being Pagan and Hippy types. We could even potentially appeal to a rock crowd, such is the nature of our punchy, in ya face approach.
