Finally, on the beginning of the year 2009, Spanish vocalist Lidia and on summer 2009 Curacoe vocalist Svetlana joined the band.

"Shakti" is a hindu word which means "Vital Energy", and "I&I" means "we" or "everybody" or "each person" in Rastafarian dialect. Both words together mean that "we are all that Vital Energy". The band spreads this message of love and conscience through various main streams of jamaican music (reggae, roots, dub, Rub-A-Dub, rocksteady, dancehall, ska, revival, lovers, etc.)

Their first show was during summer 2008 in the Cultural Association of Musicians "Guinarecords", where they keep playing until now. Shakti I&I shared the stage during famous "Fiestas de Gr cia 2008" with musicians from Guinarecords. They also played several acoustic shows in the "Garcilaso" of Barcelona on late 2008. They played in the "Barrock-Cafe" of Sant Cugat (nearby Barcelona) on February 2009 and in the "CC de Mirasol" during the " Mou-te festival" of St Cugat (nearby Barcelona) on April 2009, in Kan Pasqual on May 2009, in Guinarecords, Barcelona on May, June and July 2009, in Inercia Vice on July and August 2009 and in Ali Bei 114, art-center located in Barcelona ( former "La Escosesa").They opened the "Fiesta Major de Poble Nou 2009" on September 2009. They played in "La Boite", Lleida, sharing the stage with Desforestados, whose singer, Freddy Frenzy, is the ex-lead singer of Roots Generators, on November 2009. They played in Guinarecords and in the "Marula Cafe" in Barcelona on November and December 2009 and in "El Andalus" in St Cugat on December 2009.

They recorded an eponim EP in late 2008 in "Bcn Arts". Three takes were enough: the first one for the instrumental section( drums, bass, guitar and keyboards ), the second one for the voices ( main and back ) and the third talke for solos ( guitar, sax and percussion ).

It has been mixed during recording in Bcn Arts by both Bcn Arts and Shakti I&I and masterized by both 75Humans Productions and Shakti I&I.

It is a totally autoproduced EP that has been released to the public in the beginning of 2009 in Barcelona. They then started to promote it through several radio stations such as Cugat.cat or Soundsystemfm on Radio CIutat Vella or even .Com Radio. They performed on an acoustic version in Cugat.cat radio and during Soundsystemfm 's 20th anniversary in spring 2009.
