He's a steady hand in a rattling, rolling, shifting sea of music. Hear Small Town Jones."
- Iain Archer Singer/Songwriter (Tired Pony/Snow Patrol) Ivor Novello winner

2012 is proving to be a big year for Small Town (Jim) Jones. Having already provoked a four-star review in Q magazine for the self-released Freight Ships, the album is now making big waves for this compelling West country artist, most recently appearing on Dermot O Leary's Radio 2 Saturday show.

The underdog no more Small Town Jones career continues to go from strength to strength and he will soon be hitting the big cities with his tranquil observations of the troubled world. For the last couple of years Small Town Jones has been earning praise from the likes of the Ivor Novello Award winner Iain Archer, Americana Folk Troubadours Peter Bruntnell and Willy Vlautin (Richmond Fontaine) Jim has also toured with Damien Jurado, Chuck Prophet and Richmond Fontaine with a headline tour to follow later in the year.

...Giving his songs a wider scope, but carrying the same intense intimacy, as he again attempts to make sense of hope and confusion. **** review in Q magazine by Andy Fyfe, March 2012

Emotive confessionals and keening ballads - Keith Hargreaves, Americana UK.
