Since then they have worked on an impressive set of original music. Diverse in its content, the band's first gigs of 2011 have gone down a storm, filling sizeable venues. The band are already attracting interest from the Manchester music scene, with venues such as Jabez Clegg, Moho and others getting in touch.
Likened to their influences, The Mannequins draw upon bands such as The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Joy Division, The Beatles and many more for inspiration. Despite this, their unique sound has been acknowledged by many, showing that audiences can connect with the lyrics and enjoy the sometimes heavy, sometimes mellow music that the band offer.
Their distinct sound can be attributed to a number of factors, not least the band members' individual tastes. Between them, it is fair to say that most genres fall under one of the band members' tastes.

The band are a 4-piece with multiple vocalists, a solid rhythm guitarist, exacting solos from the lead guitarist, driving bass lines from the 4-string wonder and rocking beats from the drum-pounder.
